Why a crypto price gap may not be an executable opportunity

A cross-exchange gap is a starting point for analysis. Fees, depth and transfer conditions determine what can actually be done.

1

Use different sides of the order book

A buy uses the ask and a sale uses the bid. Comparing two last prices does not describe an executable route. Quotes can change before either leg is filled.

2

Separate transfer routes from prefunded trading

Buying and transferring takes time. Holding balances on both exchanges reduces the immediate need for a transfer but introduces capital allocation and rebalancing costs. Neither model guarantees profit.

3

Unknown transfer status is not open

The absence of a closed flag does not prove that a transfer is available. Check withdrawal and deposit status, the exact network and any destination tag at both exchanges.
